The U.S.-Vietnam Trade Council and the General Sciences Library are pleased
to announce the launch of our 2004-2005 seminar series on intellectual
property rights issues to be held in Ho Chi Minh City . The seminar series
will be held bi-monthly at the General Sciences Library, focusing on legal
aspects of intellectual property rights protection and enforcement. Participants
will include lawyers, judges, faculty members and students from local
universities and government officials. The first seminar will take place
on May 12th. The seminar will feature two keynote speakers: Mr. Do Khac
Chien, Deputy Director of the Copyright Office (MOCI) and WTO negotiator
on IPR issues; and Mr. Paul Norris, an international attorney with Baker
& McKenzie. We are also pleased to have the participation of Dr. Mai
Hong Quy, Vice-Rector of the HCM University of Law.
